Appearing on the red carpet for the first time at an international fashion show, Minnie (G)-IDLE immediately received attention for her dress style and charisma which are extremely suitable for the Miu Miu fashion house. She is expected to be the next Thai-born idol to succeed in the fashion industry after BLACKPINK’s Lisa
Minnie (g)-idle, the next thai female idol is expected to “make a big deal” in the fashion industry
Officially debuted in 2018, although the group (G)-IDLE swept many music charts, so far the five members have not entered the fashion field like many other groups. Therefore, the appearance of Minnie, a Thai-born member of the group, in the show Miu Miu Autumn-Winter 2023 surprised many people, especially when the female idol had absolutely no identity with the fashion house. This appearance can also be a springboard to help Minnie develop further in the fashion field in the near future.
Minnie is a Thai female idol born in 1997 with the real name Nicha Yontararak. She joined the agency CUBE through the Cube Star Audition 2014 audition held in Thailand. Thanks to her special voice with her own unique color, rare in K-pop, Minnie became the main vocalist of (G)I-DLE.
It is known that Minnie is a member of the famous Yontararak upper family in Thailand. Her family belongs to the “Haissot” (High Society), the most prominent upper class in the land of the Golden Temple. However, she still chose the austere path to become a K-pop idol.
Attended at the royal girls’ school built by the King of Thailand, Minnie is fluent in 3 foreign languages including English, Korean, and Thai. Besides, she also has a gifted voice, and can compose, compose, and play the piano since she was 5 years old. It’s no wonder that Minnie is a talented female idol in today’s K-pop.
Minnie began to be noticed when she showed off her “quality” aura and explosive visuals on performance stages during her comeback with TOMBOY. With a growing fan base, the girl was facilitated by CUBE Entertainment to appear in separate events.
In February 2023, she was the guest of honor at the launch event of the new high-end jewelry collection of Tiffany & Co. at home in Thailand. Minie was favored to become the first Hallyu Gen 4 female idol to wear the highest quality Tiffany & Co jewelry. At the event, she wore a design made in 825 hours, encrusted with 330 carats of rubellites, 50 carats of emeralds, and 10 carats of diamonds with a total value of up to 200,000 USD (equivalent to 4.7 billion VND). The ring on Minnie’s hand is also an item in the brand’s high jewelry collection.
Just a week later, Minnie appeared at Paris Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023 with an official invitation card from the Miu Miu fashion house.
Present at the event on March 7, Minnie dressed in a Y2K-trending personality style. The beauty born in 1997 chose to combine dresses with brown tones. The signature mini skirt of Miu Miu’s house seems to be extremely suitable for the style of revealing lingerie often promoted by Minnie. The accompanying accessory is still the familiar black bag of the Miu Miu family whenever Minnie appears. To increase the overall highlight, she cleverly combined a vest and strong knee-high boots while still retaining the charm of Miu Miu.
Completing the outfit with neatly tied up hair, Minnie fully expressed the spirit of Miu Miu this season: Feminine, seductive but must have personality and rebellion in it. With this “launch”, Minnie has completely convinced fans of her ability to shine in the fashion field.
After Paris Fashion Week, Minnie announced a collaboration with British singer Anne-Marie for the song Expectation, written entirely in English. The work shows Minnie’s ability to speak in English. It is known that she is fluent in many languages including Thai, Korean, English, Japanese, and Mandarin. Fluency in English is an advantage for female idols when communicating with international partners. Is this proof that Minnie is investing in expanding her influence? Let’s look forward to her new activities.
