The current Creative Director of Dior – Maria Grazia Chiuri shook hands with the 2019 LVMH winner in the “Young Fashion Creators” category to launch a special capsule collection in support of the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP).
Maria Grazia Chiuri revives the “new look” shape with a more feminine, modern look with the Dior x thebe magugu capsule collection.
CTAOP is a voluntary project founded in 2007 based on the desire to support the health, education, and safety of the young generation of South Africa. In the spirit of the project, Maria Grazia Chiuri brought the idea to collaborate with one of the promising young designers to spread an optimistic and meaningful message to this barren land.
The youngest male fashion house and also the first African designer to bring home the prestigious LVMH award Thebe Magugu was given the responsibility by the female Creative Director of Dior to revive the founder’s famous “New Look” collection in the corner of the corner. Feminine, modern look. The collab marks the intersection of the creative visions of two generations, two inspirations by Paris and Johannesburg.
In this capsule collection, the T-shirt is made entirely in South Africa, and the image above also highlights the image of two women holding hands, implying a close sisterhood. This image also appears on the eye-catching saffron yellow background of the silk scarf that fascinates the eyes with the Christian Dior logo design creating a fancy constellation effect. Not stopping there, the Dior Book Tote bag is also dotted with “sisters” on the famous Dior Oblique motif and tag.
The most anticipated capsule collection of Dior x Thebe Magugu was released on October 27. To celebrate this special collab, the French fashion house has donated a sum of money to the CTAOP Charity Project.
