Tu Hao has just checked-in at Nghinh Phong Tower in Phu Yen with a trendy outfit. She wore a fancy slanted LBD black dress. Personalized towel head. Versace’s La Medusa mini bag hand bag sparkles in the sun. But Harper’s Bazaar is especially interested in the shoes that Tu Hao uses – because this design is the leading item of shoe trends in 2022.

The design that Tu Hao wears is Medusa Aevitas platform pump shoes from Versace fashion house. If you feel this design looks familiar, that’s because these shoes have been used by Beyoncé and Ariana Grande before.

While the shoe doesn’t need to print the classic Versace motif, its shape is unmistakable. The toe is not too round but has a square edge. Thick front sole and cool square clogs. The rustic look of the figure is balanced with the silky material and feminine glitter straps.

What is Platform Pump?

The reason Platform Pump is so popular is because it gives an incredible height to the wearer (maybe 10-15cm). If the height difference between the toe and heel is low enough (only 5-7cm), the design does not cause foot pain like shoes without canoe soles. Singer Lady Gaga, due to being only 1m55 tall, always uses platform shoes to cheat her height when performing.

However, this remarkable height can also make you prone to twisting and falling if you are not used to walking in high heels.

The thick soles make the shoes more rigid than dolls or sneakers, thus harming the soles of your feet if you walk for long periods of time. “When you walk, your feet want to move in a natural position, but the rigid form of the shoe makes your feet stuck,” says The Healing Sole by Dr. Meredith Warner. “The weight of the shoe will also put a lot of pressure on the feet when walking.”

Therefore, if you love this 2022 shoe trend, you should prioritize using it only to go to parties in a short time, or for dinner parties where you have the opportunity to sit and rest for a long time.
