Coming to the Givenchy Autumn-Winter 2023 show, Art Director Matthew M. Williams once again made the fans flutter before the design interference between the Parisian-chic style and the bold American liberality of Urban-chic.
Givenchy fall winter 2023 collection: elegant muses in a prosperous city
At the beginning of the show, the model came out with jet-black suits, strong shoulder pads, and a gently tied waist to bring a sense of formality but still comfort. Handcrafted in satin, cashmere, or mohair paired with chiffon silk, these designs are reminiscent of a mini dress, showcasing contemporary inspiration resonating with glamor.
Next, the collection shifted from oversized monochrome suits to impressive layered designs, such as a long frayed leather jacket with woolen fabric, a zippered leather dress, and generous houndstooth denim pants. from the men’s wardrobe. In addition, the relaxed body language of sportswear and workwear has also been redefined with a more upscale inspiration through the unstructured double-sided cashmere jacket, fleece-lined windbreaker, soft wool pants, and leather dress with stretch pockets…
Of course, the whole collection is not a “single” performance of black or neutral colors. As the music slows down, dresses with more vibrant and vibrant colors appear to find the balance. The most prominent are the emerald green silk dress from the 70s with floral motifs inspired by jewelry designed by Williams, a see-through red dress with a flowing body, and a yellow pleated long-sleeve dress. at the hip, or a shimmering, beaded neckline dress.
Above all, the collection is also a celebration of great fashion icons, reflected in the appearance of fish motifs sketched by founder Hubert de Givenchy himself, and inspired by the design language of legends Alexander McQueen and Versace through a couture dress and stylish metal mesh details. All in all, Williams has introduced an attractive collection with vibrant, liberal yet elegant designs – the element that has made the long heritage of the fashion house.
