Every season at Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri is always thinking about how to give her women a graceful and proud look from the special connection between fashion and the body. The same goes for the Fall Winter 2023 collection, each outfit is the confidant line that the current Creative Director sends to half the world.
Dior fall winter 2023 collection: fragile but proud roses
Digging into the vast archives of Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri is not only fascinated by the timeless elegance of the Bourgeois creations left behind by the founder. The imprints from the golden 50s were once again reborn under the talented hands of the Italian female designer. In particular, the collection is not only a fresh, more modern interpretation of the 1950s heritage or exploring various aspects of French style, but also focuses on three influential figures, Catherine Dior. , Edith Piaf and Juliette Greco.
These are three independent women with every choice in life. They are the clearest evidence for breaking the strict prejudices imposed on women by society. For Catherine Dior, that is expressed through her choice of growing and selling flowers as a message of hope. Meanwhile, Édith Piaf and Juliette Gréco performed with vocals and charismatic performances on stage.
It can be said that the Dior Fall Winter 2023 collection is the embodiment of femininity that goes against the old standards. Fragile, but stubborn and fierce. Floral motifs were chosen by Christian Dior in return for many designs. Costumes with floral motifs handle splashes of colors interwoven with iridescent threads, creating interesting light-catching effects in each model’s movements.
The palette used by Maria Grazia Chiuri in this collection is also extremely diverse: ruby red, emerald green, topaz yellow, and blue. In particular, the classic tartan fabric on the long coats and skirts enhances the luxurious beauty of the capitalist style.
