Designers typically provide 2-5mm of extra room on either side of the final graphic to ensure it makes it onto the final garment completely. If the graphic spreads into the “bleed zone,” you can trim the outer-fringe to your liking to avoid a white eyesore. Similarly, the inner portion of the design might be referred to as the “trim zone” when it is reduced to its final dimensions.
