Chrono chime: the most complicated watch omega has ever made

Numbered on each design, the 1932 Olympic Chrono Chime is the sum total of the world’s first repeater wristwatch (produced by OMEGA in 1892); and a pocket chronograph model used during the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This is also when OMEGA became the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games.

Driving the watch is the masterpiece Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 1932. Using no existing parts, OMEGA hand-crafted the movement from scratch. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer 1932 is the crystallization of the movement. stopwatch and repeater functions.

The company did not structure these two functions separately, nor did the new part join the existing one, but arranged them optimally into the same movement. This is the most complicated movement OMEGA has ever made, to date. The brand spent six years working with Blancpain to research and develop the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 1932.

OMEGA has raised this movement to the Master Chronometer standard with resistance to magnetic fields to 15,000 gausses. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber is not only the quintessence of watchmaking but also a symbol of beauty. This movement also makes the world admire when it is handcrafted, containing 46.44 grams of gold.

To suit the daily needs of many believers, OMEGA has launched a new Speedmaster (numbered on the watch), the Caliber 1932. This Chrono Chime model is 45mm in size, magnetic case 18K Sedna™ gold carries the design of the second-generation Speedmaster series CK 2998. The CK 2998 was the first watch carried by astronauts into space, in 1962.

The OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime features a blue quartz enamel dial with Grand Feu technology. Inner bezel and 18K Sedna™ gold sub-dial with unique acoustic wave pattern. Indexes, hour, and minute hands in 18K Sedna™ gold. Repeater pusher at 8 o’clock, split seconds pusher at 2 o’clock. 18K Sedna™ gold strap and buckle.

The OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime comes in a very special walnut case with a resonator inside.
