In the traditional folk music of Korea, Jamsugyo Bridge appears as a fashion symbol that blends Eastern and Western cultural elements. In the midst of the magnificent Seoul capital, Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, did not choose palatial gardens and high-rise buildings. He chose the Jamsugyo bridge across the Han River as the stage for Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2023 collection.

“For the people of Seoul, it is a living monument. It’s also a real-life fictional character that appears in many movies. It’s an inspiring place to hold a performance. It’s a real catwalk.” – he shared.

Not exactly the same, nor completely different. The Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2023 collection is a story that repeats itself. From an image to an idea, from memory to innovation, belief to discovery… An unceasing flow of creativity moves from the inherent foundations of the French fashion house. The collection moves from shore to shore of the imagination; Essential here is given a new look and new features.

Those costume creations are connected, just like the Jamsugyo Bridge, a living structure that exists in harmony with the sudden flow of water, a perfect allegory of transformation. It anchors a groundbreaking collection. The Jamsugyo Bridge, the main linking symbol of the city, also became a character, transformed at this time by Hwang Dong-Hyuk,

HoYeon Jung, the star from the hit series “Squid Game” and the Louis Vuitton Brand Ambassador, plays the role of opening the Pre-Fall collection show this time. Blue windbreaker with a waist-shaped zipper belt anchored by a studded A-line leather skirt. Following the yellow windbreaker versions, then the red two-piece bodysuit tied with an oversized belt filled with classic colors.

The Pre-Fall 2023 show highlights the signature brand elements and honors the inherent French style: A-line skirts, thick coats, sci-fi-inspired elements… Especially, In this collection, giant buckles help to “unwind” the framework of traditional tailoring. The iconic monogram overlays the overalls with a deep neckline, puffy jacket, and wide-leg pants. Variations of chunky Archlight sneakers paired with a 60s-inspired jacket are also among the highlights.

For the wrap-up outfit, Nicolas Ghesquière turned his LV girls wild with flowing linen maxi dresses and floor-length pleated jersey dresses, teamed with blazers or tweed jackets.
