German “national” pine costs 2-47 million VND/tree

According to a representative of Green Life Company (HCMC), a large number of real pine trees (cut roots) are imported from Germany by this unit, expected to arrive in Vietnam in early December. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Diep – director of the company – said that the real pine species imported this year are quite diverse, with nearly a dozen types ranging in height from 1.2m to 7m. Trees from 1.2m to 1.5m high cost 2-3 million VND/tree, from 2.7m cost 8.3 million VND/tree… Especially trees with 7m high and 3.5m wide canopy cost nearly 47 million copper.

However, according to Ms. Diep, although they have not yet arrived in Vietnam, many types have been “sold out”, especially trees with a height of 1.2m, 1.5m and 3.7m imported but not enough to supply.

Meanwhile, as recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, many stores announced that they received orders for fresh pine trees from the US, with a height of 1-2.5m, prices ranging from 4-13 million VND/tree (not included). 10% VAT, decoration fee, shipping). If you book nearly 1 month early, guests will receive a discount of about 500,000 VND.

However, representatives of many units said that due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, in general, the amount of real information is not as much as in other years, the price has increased somewhat due to increased transportation costs.

To compete, many businesses apply technology in transportation, increasing the customer experience. The company Green Life said that this year, the application of a smart technology platform helps customers track their orders and transport vehicles in real time as soon as the pine tree is brought to the port in Germany. Arriving in Vietnam, customers continue to track their orders, apply electronic signatures, electronic delivery certificates, so they can ensure that the goods are of the right origin and quality.

Many units also take up-to-date photos from cutting down trees to packing, sending them back to Vietnam for customers to order Christmas trees so that customers can “have the atmosphere” of Christmas right after placing an order.

Fake news mostly from China

Meanwhile, the majority of fake pine sold in Vietnam comes from China. Even now, many channels receive orders for shipping from China.

A representative of NNQ Company (HCMC) said that nearly a month ago, the unit received and transported hundreds of fake pine trees from China. Shipping to the place has a popular price of 300,000-1.2 million VND/tree depending on the size, the more you buy, the lower the price.

“Customers can easily find many kinds of fake pine at factories in Guangzhou (China), or order them on e-commerce sites of this country. If you go through the company, you only need to deposit about 80% of the value. orders, in about 10 days the goods will arrive in Vietnam”, the representative of the unit confirmed.

Many companies engaged in the business of buying and transporting rental services said that most of the products are from China, because early buyers stated that most of the orders were imported before December to prepare for sale.

Vibrant decorations, cheap prices rise to the throne

The decoration shopping market has also started to be active. As noted at Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street (District 5), the shops here have displayed Christmas decorations close together, diverse types and vibrant colors. Bookstores, souvenir shops and inside many churches also arrange an area to sell Christmas decorations for parishioners to buy conveniently.

On the campus of Tan Dinh church (District 3), popular decorations used to hang Christmas trees such as colorful pearls, snowflakes, bells, etc. cost 10,000-50,000 VND/piece, are bought the most, depending on the size, the material is foam, plastic, iron or fabric. Single-color decorative LED lights, 10m long, priced from 250,000-350,000 VND/string. Ms. Thanh Chau (29 years old) shared: “The price is quite reasonable, many types are easy to choose”.
